People will always tell you that you need at least one of these things to become successful online.
You see, this is just another one of the many myths in the Internet Marketing world.
It is a ploy carefully designed by some to scare people off before they even begin (to eliminate potential competition), and an excuse used by many to justify their lack of success.
Well I'm living proof that this is just a myth.
In October last year I was doing OK financially, but I had no 'name', no contacts and had never even tried to build a list.
By November I had not only created a name for myself, a healthy responsive list and an impressive Rolodex of contacts, but had also generated over 7 figures in sales. (Despite consistently being told it could not be done.)
The exciting thing is, I now know how you can do the same. And without any of the myths or lies.
Some myths are harmless and will have little impact on your likelihood of success. But I have come to realize that there are also many that will dictate the potential outcome of your life. That is, until you break free of them.
There are a lot of ways to make money online. Some more simple than others, and some that will make you more than others.
Unfortunately Almost All of Them Fail to Give You Security
It was only very recently that I realized this.
I guess, like many making a living online, I had been aware of it unconsciously. The nagging 'what if?' feeling.
What if Google changes its algorithms, what if eBay changes its terms and conditions, what if the CPA network decides it is no longer profitable to offer the program I am promoting any more. What if...
The reality is that all of these what ifs do happen. It is not really 'what if?', but 'when?'
Don't get me wrong, I still use all of these methods to generate money. But I no longer rely on any of them. They are just a bonus. If any one of them stopped working for me tomorrow, I am still going to be OK.
Why? Because now my core business is based on a sustainable model. And it is far more profitable too.
Most people have the wrong idea about making money online.
Building a solid, stable income online has nothing to do with...
* Using blackhat techniques to try and trick the search engines into ranking your site highly
* Focusing on the latest trend (be it social media, affiliate marketing or CPA)
* Relying on anything far beyond your control (such as adsense)
They may seem like a great idea, especially if you're already struggling to earn any sort of income online. I know, because I've been there.
I got to a point where I was desperate for some decent income, and every system looked as though it had the key to my financial salvation.
At one time I was so busy trying to make money I failed to stop and see what all of the 'big boys' were really doing.
One Piece of Advice I Can Give You: Do NOT Listen to the Gurus
If there is one piece of advice I can give you, it is not to listen to the 'Gurus'. Study more from what they do than what they say. Look to see if what they are teaching matches what they are doing.
Many make more money teaching you what to do, than they do from actually doing it themselves.
If you buy into all of the hype, lies, and inflated figures, where does it get you? At the end of the day, you're back at square one (or even worse off after spending thousands of dollars on useless products).
It all feels like a waste of time. The returns are minimal and, despite all the promises, you are no closer to quitting your day job.
If you are looking to create a business - a real long term cash machine, something you can always rely on for years to come, or even sell for a healthy profit - then you need to think (and act) differently.
If you have rent, a mortgage, bills to pay, or a family to feed you will understand the need for a stable income.
As said, there are many different ways to generate income online. While they all have their benefits, (Adsense, CPA, Affiliate Marketing and other similar models) they just don't give you that stability.
Don't get me wrong, these are all great ways of supplementing your online cashflow with some recurring income. The problem is, they rely too much on external factors, such as Google's mood of the day.
I know plenty of people - myself included - who have had their income disappear overnight. Their cost per click suddenly went up or their sites got slapped and all because Google decided to change their algorithms - again!
It's painful when you realise that the success of all your hard work is in the hands of someone else.
When you think about it, it's no different to having a day job...
You can put in all the time, money and effort to build yourself a nice stable income online. But if someone higher up decides that they don't like the way things are working anymore, all your hard work comes crumbling down and your income drops to zero.
(Imagine how much more painful this is if you quit your job to rely on this income...)
Whether it's a major company like Google or the owner of an affiliate product, someone else is always holding all the cards

Cartooning is a good hobby, a hobby enjoyed mostly by those who really have the talent as an artist. You may just do cartooning to satisfy yourself but you can also learn through cartooning. There are people who love reading and watching cartoons. Cartoons are everywhere. They are on television, magazines, newspapers and comics. But how are you going to have high earnings in cartooning? Your cartoons must possess high quality so that people will embrace and love it and will crave for more of your cartons. But of course, dont you ever forget stories that will leave marks on them. So here are some tips that will help you.
1.Paper matters
Use high quality of paper. A laser paper will do. Choose a thick quality paper so that the ink will not blot. When you draw for magazines, 6 1/4" X 9 1/4" paper is a good size. There will be ten to fifteen drawings that could fit in that paper size.
2.Drawing
Practice makes perfect. Practice everyday. It will enhance your skills and you will be able to discover new ideas. You may also take a look and collect the cartoons made by your favorite cartoonist. Study how he does his cartoons and trace it. Once you are done with your sample portfolio, you show them to a friend. Ask them how the find your work, if they understand it. If they have any comments, fix it.
3.Callouts lettering
Just like drawing, you also need to practice the lettering to produce a good one. Try using a pencil first to give room for errors before using the ink. Center your lettering in the callouts. All the lines between the letters should be of the same distance. The lesser the words in a dialogue, the better. Make the letters heavier or thicker if you want to specify that the character is shouting.

Choose what colors tool is best for your cartoons. You may choose from watercolors, acrylics, poster paints, colored pencils, pastels or oil paints. Also consider what color should be used depending on the moods of the characters or the scene.

From An Artiste To A Revolution
My curiosity for art emerges from my inability to be anything other than a writer.
When I meet an artiste, I am in awe of him or her.
When I watch people paint on canvas, render poetry, dance, sing, perform or write with such ease, it dwarfs me, because it is their connect with the depths of their own souls which enables them to create such beauty through their varied forms of expressions.
Peter Saltzman whom I was a big fan of once, is a friend of mine now, so I know much more about him than his music which is what I have turned to so often when I've needed to tear myself away from the cacophony of life to take me to the calm most of us try to reach out to almost every single day of our crazy lives.
An accomplished jazz pianist in Chicago, USA, Peter humbles me with the passion he has for his craft whenever I talk to him, which is quite often these days.
On a visit to Mumbai, some time ago, Peter left us riveted when he told us all about himself and his life.
He was barely three at the time his grandparents discovered his talent when he played around with an electronic organ lying around at their house once. Soon they bought him a standing piano which was the beginning of Peter's journey. He would fool around with keys till he got a sound he was looking for, and by the time he was five, his folks knew they must put him in training.
So Peter started to train in classical music at such a young age while growing up in the '60's when Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle and the Beatles were a rage. So while he played their records over and over again till he wore them out, Peter continued to practise on sonata's of Beethoven, and by the time he was in high school, he developed a passion for jazz and started to play it.
I needed to know more about his journey, the process, so he took me through some of his memories like when he played with a band, with bass and drums for the first time in his freshman year at high school when his teacher got some of his top students to play with proffessionals. It was an incredible experience for him, the sense of playing with others, performing with others, was music to allude new levels for him.
It meant a lot as an experience and it was like, music for him has been a series of realizations of some incredible force.
He also remembered one time when he was about 15, and he was listening to a Miles Davis record called Milestones, Cannonball Adderley, the great jazz alto saxophonist of the hard-bop era of the 1950's and 1960's, started soloing and it was one of those times he remembers particularly because upto that instance he knew he loved the feeling of jazz but couldn't understand the abstract complex elements of it, but in that moment it was like the heavens had opened up for him and he began to see the whole thing and experience his passion in its true sense.
He smiles as he shares this private moment with me because he says it is a personal experience, all about him alone, for which he credits Cannonball in a certain way for explaining what it all meant.
Things like that have happened over and over again with him whether he was listening to Beethoven or Bach, Classical, Jazz and Pop, all three traditions which he grew up with, Richard Rogers, Cole Porter, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and many more artistes.
Peter believes their music has been like what they've told him. He believes they are like his forefathers, because they've laid down the book for him as all that he's done this far, comes from them.
He laughs as I ask him about gigs.
For some reason although he's had great times playing at concerts and clubs and parties, he only remembers those times when things went wrong and therefore doesn't want to talk about them.
Sounds like a true artiste.
